Pediatric School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Highland Park, Illinois
Step into a rewarding, full-time opportunity working onsite with a dynamic high school caseload, supporting students’ growth and communication skills. This contract position is designed to cover a leave of absence from August 10 through September 22, providing an engaging way to make a meaningful impact in a school setting.
Ideal candidates will bring a passion for working with adolescent learners, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to ensuring every student’s voice is heard. Daily responsibilities will blend assessment, therapy, and collaboration for high schoolers in a supportive setting.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current SLP-CCC or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligibility
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Skilled in individualized assessment, documentation, and IEP development
- Ability to effectively collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Illinois SLP licensure (or eligibility to obtain before start date)
- Strong organization and time management skills for managing high school student caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to high school students for a range of needs
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and contribute to IEP meetings
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding student progress and communication strategies
- Foster a supportive, encouraging atmosphere for student success
