School Speech Language Pathologist - Andover, MN
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with a dedicated team focused on making a meaningful difference in the lives of students. This full-time Speech-Language Pathologist position is set within a supportive educational environment, offering 37.5 hours per week throughout the full school year. The role primarily centers around serving an elementary school caseload, providing essential services that help students achieve their communication goals.
Initially, you’ll support the Justice Alan Page community by covering a maternity leave. When the regular staff member returns (anticipated around Thanksgiving break), your expertise will remain highly valued, as you’ll transition to assist in other buildings covering additional leaves. If there are no other leaves requiring support at that point, your focus will shift to providing compensatory services for students who previously missed therapy due to staffing gaps.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active Minnesota State SLP license required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Previous school-based SLP experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy to elementary-aged students
- Conduct assessments, develop IEPs, and maintain documentation
- Collaborate with school staff and participate in meetings as needed
- Adapt to diverse caseloads and building assignments as the school year progresses
- Provide compensatory services to address any missed student needs
