Licensed Certified Speech Language Pathologist Assistant in Palmdale, CA
Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting students as a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in schools near Palmdale, CA. In this full-time role, you’ll play a vital part in enhancing communication and learning outcomes for students, particularly those utilizing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. Your journey will be an itinerant one, allowing you to connect with diverse student populations across the district, with mileage reimbursement provided for your travel (an average of 40-50 miles weekly). Start date is targeted for March 16, 2026, with Spring Break scheduled the following week.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Licensed, certified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in California
- Knowledge of school-based therapeutic services and documentation standards
- Skilled in the use and implementation of AAC devices
- Previous experience in educational settings preferred
- Strong organization and time management for itinerant schedules
- Effective communicator, adaptable, and collaborative
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Support and facilitate the use of AAC devices for students with communication needs
- Travel between school sites within the district, maintaining a positive presence
- Collect data and track student progress, collaborating with supervising SLP
- Communicate effectively with classroom teachers, other staff, and families
- Help implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
