Certified Licensed School Speech Language Pathologist Assistant | Palmdale, California
Step into a dynamic role where your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) can make a meaningful difference for students. This full-time, contract opportunity offers 30 to 35 hours per week, beginning March 16, 2026. You’ll support a diverse group of learners across various school sites in the area, specifically working with students who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
As an itinerant provider, you will travel between locations within the district, covering approximately 40-50 miles per week. Mileage reimbursement is provided to ensure your travel is effortless and recognized. You will also have the benefit of professional supervision as you deliver services and collaborate with staff.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification and licensure as an SLPA
- Experience in a school-based setting highly preferred
- Familiarity with AAC devices and their use in educational environments
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel between school sites (mileage reimbursed)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech-language services to students per IEP requirements
- Implement strategies and assist with AAC device programming and instruction
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, teachers, and families to support student progress
- Maintain clear documentation of sessions, student progress, and communications
- Adapt techniques to meet the unique needs of each student
- Participate in supervision meetings and ongoing training opportunities
