What You’ll Bring:
- Current license and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Illinois, or eligibility to obtain one
- Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly valued
- Thorough understanding of speech, language, and communication disorders in children
- Strong assessment, intervention, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to promoting inclusive practices for students with diverse needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders among students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in line with district and state standards
- Deliver direct and consultative therapy services based on student needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for instructional adjustments
- Maintain clear, organized documentation of services, progress, and compliance requirements
- Adapt therapy approaches for a caseload that may involve varying disabilities and age ranges
- Educate and guide staff and families to maximize each student’s ability to communicate effectively
