This part-time role calls for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential services to two Specialized Day Classes (SDCs) with students who have extensive support needs. You'll work closely with a collaborative and welcoming team, delivering impactful speech and language therapy focused on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
Key Qualifications:
- Current California SLP licensure or eligibility (SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY)
- Prior experience providing speech/language services in a school setting
- Strong background in AAC and support for complex communicators
- Compassion for students with diverse abilities and commitment to inclusive practices
- New graduates completing their CFY are encouraged to apply
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students with complex communication challenges
- Assess and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement AAC strategies
- Provide consultation and training to teaching staff on effective communication supports
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
This contract position is available for immediate start and runs through the end of the academic need (end date TBD). Enjoy a part-time schedule of 2-3 days per week, with approximately 7 hours each day—giving you flexibility while making a lasting difference.
