As a school-based SLP, you’ll be placed in 1-2 local schools (full- or part-time depending on the assignment) with exposure to settings ranging from brand new K-8 campuses to established middle and high schools. You'll serve a variety of age groups, including pre-K through high school, with a focus on supporting students in ASD, EBD, InD, and VE units. This wide range of placements fosters both professional growth and an impressive expansion of your clinical resume. Collaborate with established SLPs, assistants, and school leadership teams committed to student success—and gain insight into education practices unique to Florida.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active SLP licensure required
- SLP-CCC preferred; SLPA considered if local supervision available
- Experience in school settings strongly preferred
- Ability to work onsite only
- Comfortable with diverse caseloads and age groups
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage therapy caseload as assigned (PK–12th grades, ASD/EBD/InD/VE units)
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and teachers
- Maintain accurate records and support student growth
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and professional meetings
