Step into a dynamic contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting a variety of students across several schools in the Birmingham, AL area. You’ll play a vital part in a collaborative team, serving an estimated caseload of 60 students across multiple educational settings including preschool, elementary, middle, and high school levels. This assignment spans the 2026-2027 academic year, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours. Onsite presence is required at all times.
Key Qualifications:
- Active SLP license in Alabama
- SLP Educator certification in Alabama (please verify certifications and fingerprint clearance via: https://tcert.alsde.edu/Portal/Public/Pages/SearchCerts.aspx)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
- Previous experience in school-based settings strongly valued
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders for a diverse range of students
- Develop and implement IEP goals in alignment with educational standards and student needs
- Work collaboratively with other professionals and attend multidisciplinary meetings as required
- Provide direct therapy services individually or in small groups at various assigned campuses
- Complete required documentation and progress reports in a timely manner
- Serve as an engaged resource for staff and families, supporting student success
