Serving as an SLP on a maternity leave assignment from August 12th through November 1st, you’ll work closely with a complex needs population, including students with significant Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. This placement will challenge and enhance your clinical expertise, offering exposure to diverse therapy models and collaborative, interdisciplinary teams—a tremendous opportunity to grow your resume and strengthen your skillset.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Valid SLP licensure in Connecticut (or eligibility)
- Previous school-based SLP experience preferred
- Expertise supporting students with complex needs, including significant ASD and multiple disabilities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop individualized treatment plans for students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to optimize student outcomes
- Document progress and maintain compliance with IEP requirements
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and provide expertise for program planning
