Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist - Holt, Michigan
Step into a dynamic school environment, supporting students' communication development as an on-site Speech-Language Pathologist this coming semester. Two contract opportunities are available, each covering upcoming maternity leaves with distinct caseloads.
The first opportunity runs January through April, serving an early childhood caseload. You’ll travel to multiple preschools and early childhood special education sites, providing therapy and conducting comprehensive speech/language and multidisciplinary evaluations for PreK children, including those with complex needs. The second opening begins in February (end date TBD), focused on supporting 5th and 6th graders. Both positions are full-time and onsite only.
Ideal candidates possess robust experience with pediatric populations, particularly in school settings, and are comfortable managing diverse caseloads independently. Your expertise in both direct therapy and evaluations will support student success and collaboration with teachers and families.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC)
- Valid Michigan SLP license required
- Experience in pediatric and school-based SLP preferred
- Proven skill in early childhood evaluations and multidisciplinary team collaboration
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) applicants with strong pediatric backgrounds may be considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to early childhood, 5th, and 6th grade students
- Conduct and document speech/language and multidisciplinary evaluations, especially for pre-kindergarten
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to develop IEPs and effective treatment plans
- Travel between assigned school sites (for early childhood caseload)
- Maintain accurate records and comply with state/district documentation requirements
