Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Oregon RN license required
- Experience in pediatric nursing, especially with medically complex children
- Skill in ventilator management, breathing treatments, and emergency response
- Ability to provide cares such as tube clearing, suctioning, and personal care support during the school day
- Comfort collaborating effectively with students, teachers, and families
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to inclusive education
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver all necessary medical care for a first-grade student during school hours
- Monitor ventilator and immediately address any issues or blockages
- Administer breathing treatments as prescribed
- Support bathrooming and daily living assistance as needed
- Communicate and coordinate care with school staff and educational support team
- Maintain accurate and confidential health documentation
- Foster a positive, reassuring presence to ensure the student remains engaged and included throughout the day
