This contract position is ideal for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist who thrives in school-based and healthcare environments, particularly with pediatric and young adult learners. You’ll be providing specialized speech therapy services to a single student, age 20, who communicates using AAC (PECS), during the Extended School Year (ESY) session.
Position Details:
- Time commitment: 1 hour per week
- ESY dates: June 8-26 and July 13-31
- Flexible scheduling: Choose any hour between 9am–3pm, during each service week
- Location: Conveniently situated near Dublin, OH
Qualifications:
- Active and valid SLP-CCC credential, with experience in school or pediatric settings
- Background in healthcare-related speech therapy practices
- Skilled in working with AAC users, especially utilizing PECS
- Comfort and empathy working one-on-one with older adolescent/young adult students
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
You Will:
- Conduct individualized speech-language therapy targeting communication goals for the student
- Apply AAC strategies, adapting sessions to the student’s evolving abilities and needs
- Collaborate with the student’s educational team as needed to ensure continuity of care
- Document progress and maintain records aligned with professional standards and school requirements
