Key Qualifications:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license in Virginia
- Experience with speech-language pathology in pediatric, healthcare, or school-based settings (SLP, CCC, SLP CFY, SLPA—all are welcome)
- Previous school-based experience highly preferred
- Training and expertise in assessment, evaluation, and consultation
- Strong knowledge of special education processes and disability categories
- Skill incorporating warmth, positivity, and creativity into therapy
- Excellent organizational, collaboration, and communication abilities
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct speech and language assessments, screenings, and evaluations for referred students
- Provide direct therapy to students with speech and language impairments, focusing on their academic and personal growth
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement IEPs
- Consult and communicate with families, school personnel, and other agencies to track student progress
- Support school staff with classroom language programs and intervention strategies
- Maintain documentation and communication for students’ ongoing development
