Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in King George, VA
Step into a rewarding role supporting elementary students as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time, in-person contract runs from August 13th, 2025 through May 21st, 2026, offering the opportunity to collaborate with a vibrant special education team and make a meaningful impact on children's lives.
In this position, you will conduct individualized assessments, deliver speech and language therapy, and provide consultative support to both school staff and families. As a core member of the special services cooperative, you’ll address speech and language needs, drive IEP planning, and support students’ personal and academic growth in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Active Virginia SLP License required
- Experience in pediatrics, teletherapy, school-based, or healthcare SLP roles strongly preferred
- Ability to bring lightheartedness and positivity to the workplace
- Commitment to supporting students with special education needs and collaborating with their families
- Skilled in assessment, evaluation, consultation, and all facets of the special education process
- Effective communicator, actively listens, and cultivates productive professional relationships
- Experience working with elementary students and as part of a multidisciplinary educational team is desirable
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, consultation, and direct therapy for students with speech and language needs
- Participate in special education identification, referral, and IEP processes
- Advise school personnel and families regarding student needs and progress
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and related service professionals
- Foster a supportive, engaging atmosphere for learning and communication development
