Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Dumfries, Virginia
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary students while developing your own skills as a Speech Language Pathologist during the 2025-2026 school year. This contract, full-time, in-person opportunity allows you to collaborate within a dedicated team and provide individualized speech and language assessment and therapy, while consulting with staff and supporting families. Reporting to the Director of Special Education, you’ll play a vital role in guiding students’ academic and personal growth from August 13th, 2025 to May 21st, 2026.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold an active VA SLP License.
- Experience working with pediatric and special education populations.
- Background in assessment, evaluation, and consultation with students and staff.
- Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Commitment to building positive, professional relationships with staff, students, and families.
- Ability to adapt to all phases of the special education process and support a range of developmental needs.
- Effective communicator with a collaborative, team-centered approach and a sense of humor.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative and advisory services to school personnel for the diagnosis and remediation of students’ speech and language needs.
- Deliver screening, evaluation, and assessment for students referred for special education.
- Contribute as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team by interpreting results, making recommendations, and participating in IEP planning.
- Maintain ongoing communication with staff, families, and health care partners to monitor student progress.
- Work hands-on with students, supporting their ability to communicate and thrive both in the classroom and in the community.
- Support educational staff with classroom-based language program development.
