Exciting contract opportunity for an enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to make a valuable impact in an innovative high school program designed for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and diverse learning needs. This position runs through the 2026-2027 school year, serving the Compass High Program—a specialized setting dedicated to fostering independence through customized educational supports. The assignment is based in Ludlow, MA, with the main site at Ludlow High School.
Skills & Experience Sought:
- Valid Massachusetts SLPA license and compliance with all state requirements
- Demonstrated expertise supporting high school-aged students, particularly those with ASD or similar diagnoses
- Strong background working with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices—proficiency with assessment, programming, and facilitating use in diverse educational settings is a must
- Consistent ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team, tailoring support to student Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals
- Excellent communication skills, with a commitment to empowering self-advocacy and functional independence
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy in individualized and group formats, using evidence-based interventions
- Integrate AAC tools into daily classroom activities and personal routines, providing training and support for students and staff
- Collect data to monitor progress, adjusting interventions as appropriate
- Contribute to IEP meetings, progress reporting, and overall planning for student growth
- Foster inclusive learning environments that celebrate neurodiversity
Assignment Details:
- School year contract, approximately August 27, 2026, through June 22, 2027 (dependent on the finalized academic calendar)
- 32.5 hours per week, predominantly on-site in Ludlow
