As a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA), you’ll work full-time—Monday through Friday—directly with 39 students identified with mild to moderate needs, primarily focusing on articulation and pragmatic language development. You’ll provide therapeutic assistance across a single campus, simplifying your caseload management and creating the opportunity to foster deeper student connections.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid SLPA license or eligibility to practice as an SLPA in the state
- Previous experience in a school-based setting (preferred, but not required)
- Ability to implement lesson plans and therapy activities designed by an SLP
- Familiarity with strategies for articulation and pragmatic language intervention
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules and documentation efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with supervising SLPs, teachers, and families
- Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive environment for students
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Support students’ progress with focus on articulation and social communication
- Collect and document student data, contributing to progress reports and IEP meetings
- Collaborate with classroom educators and special education staff
- Participate in professional development as appropriate
- Maintain compliance with documentation and confidentiality standards
