About the Role
York County is currently seeking two School-Based Speech-Language Pathologists for the upcoming school year. These are onsite positions supporting elementary-aged students, with one role potentially including some high school coverage depending on district assignment.
SLPs will typically be assigned to one to two school locations, based on district needs and caseload distribution.
Caseload & Placement
- Caseload size: Under 68 students
- Primary setting: Elementary schools
- One position may include some high school students
- Typically assigned 1–2 school sites per SLP
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services
- Complete evaluations and documentation
- Develop and implement IEP goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and team collaboration
- Work closely with teachers, families, and special education staff
- Track student progress and adjust intervention as needed
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Virginia SLP license (or eligibility for CF candidates)
- CCC-SLP or Clinical Fellow (CF) accepted
- School-based experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
