Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving K-12 students as an onsite Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in an educational setting near Waverly, VA. This role runs from August 3, 2026, through May 21, 2027, and covers one to three schools within the district. Supervision for SLPAs is provided by a licensed SLP via virtual support, ensuring collaborative, high-quality care for students.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Active or eligible state licensure as an SLP-CCC or SLPA
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred but not required
- Comfort managing K-12 student needs across various speech and language disorders
- Ability to adapt quickly and communicate effectively with students, educators, and parents
- Strong commitment to supporting individual education plans (IEPs)
- Reliable, organized, and proactive approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to K-12 students in accordance with IEP goals
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all services provided
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and assist with assessments as needed
- Implement evidence-based interventions and adjust strategies as required
- Work onsite at assigned school locations, with SLPA supervision provided virtually by an SLP
