Speech Language Pathologist in Madison, VA
Madison, VA
Seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to provide exceptional support for middle and high school students on a contract basis. This onsite-only opportunity near Madison, VA is ideal for professionals passionate about making a lasting impact with a diverse student population.
This role is structured for 35 hours per week, working closely with students who require assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring. There is a preference for candidates who are bilingual in Spanish—though this is not mandatory. Successful applicants must hold active Virginia SLP licensure.
Qualifications:
- Possession of an active Virginia Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license
- Experience with school-based populations, particularly middle and high school students
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus, but not required
- Flexibility to work exclusively onsite within a school setting
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations for students referred for speech and language services
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting each student's unique needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary
- Document sessions, prepare IEP reports, and maintain accurate records according to school and state guidelines
- Facilitate collaboration and consultation with teachers, staff, and parents to support student goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student success strategies
