Step into a dynamic contract role supporting high school-aged students with diverse needs in an integrated, collaborative Regional Resource Center serving the Upper Valley. As a crucial member of the interdisciplinary team, you’ll work alongside educators and specialists to help students with developmental and multiple disabilities thrive both in and out of the classroom. The program philosophy centers on authentic inclusion—speech, language, and communication supports are woven into everything from academic lessons to community-based employment experiences.

Qualifications & Desired Background:

  • Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences or related field, with clinical experience qualifying for SLP certification
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility to obtain; Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) applicants encouraged
  • Vermont Clinical SLP License (Office of Professional Regulation)
  • Vermont Educational SLP Endorsement (Agency of Education)
  • Experience working with high school aged or transition students with complex needs is a plus
  • Familiarity with AAC systems, visual supports, and multidisciplinary special education teams
  • Strong collaborative, coaching, and consultative skills for staff and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach and embed language and communication goals within academic and functional curriculum alongside special educators
  • Provide explicit instruction and facilitate peer interactions in classrooms, community settings, and vocational placements
  • Integrate AAC and assistive technology to maximize communication access for all students
  • Conduct thorough speech/language evaluations and contribute to IEPs, assessment reports, and progress reviews
  • Support generalization of communication skills within real-world and work environments
  • Collaborate actively with OTs, PTs, vocational specialists, and external agencies
  • Deliver professional development and consultation to team members and families
