Pediatric School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - White River Junction, Vermont
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of high school-aged students with developmental and multiple disabilities by joining a collaborative, interdisciplinary team as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract opportunity is based at a Regional Resource Center, providing an engaging and fully integrated educational environment with a focus on functional academics, independent living, and vocational programming. As an embedded SLP, you will offer innovative, student-centered support both in the classroom and throughout the community, working closely with educators, therapists, and families to foster independence and communication.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences or related field, with graduate-level coursework and clinical experience supporting SLP certification
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), eligibility for ASHA certification, or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligibility
- Vermont Clinical SLP License through OPR and Vermont Educational SLP Endorsement through AOE
- Experience with AAC, visual supports, and assistive technology in a school or healthcare setting
- Pediatric, teletherapy, or school-based SLP experience welcomed
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, co-teach, and integrate communication goals within academic and functional lessons
- Model language, facilitate peer interaction, and support communication within daily routines and community activities
- Embed AAC, visual supports, and technology solutions throughout the school day
- Deliver direct services, conduct assessments, and develop IEP goals in alignment with the RRC’s mission
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, vocational staff, and community agencies to ensure student success across settings
- Provide ongoing consultation and professional development to staff, and support families in extending communication strategies into the home and community
- Manage and maintain speech therapy equipment and documentation in compliance with legal requirements
