Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist - Norwich, Vermont

Seeking an experienced and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a collaborative Regional Resource Center team dedicated to empowering high school-aged students with developmental and/or multiple disabilities. This contract position offers an opportunity to play an integral, hands-on role in a fully integrated academic, vocational, and independent living program—where communication skills are developed in classrooms, workplace sites, and community settings.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences or related field, with clinical experience applicable to SLP certification
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC); open to candidates eligible for ASHA certification or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Vermont Clinical SLP License (Office of Professional Regulation)
- Vermont Educational SLP Endorsement (Agency of Education)
- Experience with AAC systems, visual supports, and assistive technology strongly preferred
- Background in pediatric, school-based, or healthcare SLP settings
- Strong collaborative skills and passion for interdisciplinary teamwork
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate communication and language support throughout academic instruction, vocational training, community-based learning, and daily functional routines
- Co-teach, model, and implement communication objectives within classroom and vocational settings
- Provide consultative support to staff and families, ensuring communication strategies extend across environments
- Develop and oversee functional communication goals, facilitate peer interactions, and bolster social and advocacy skills
- Conduct thorough evaluations and maintain accurate documentation to inform and support students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and outside agencies to create a supportive, inclusive environment
