Make a meaningful impact as a contracted Speech Language Pathologist within a dynamic, interdisciplinary program designed for high school-aged students (through age 22) with developmental and multiple disabilities. Serving as an integral member of the Regional Resource Center team, you’ll help shape communication abilities across academic, vocational, and life skills domains in an inclusive environment that values hands-on, collaborative instruction.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences or closely related field, including appropriate clinical experience
  • Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), eligibility for ASHA certification, or eligibility to complete the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
  • Vermont Clinical SLP License and Vermont Educational SLP Endorsement
  • Comprehensive understanding of integrating speech-language services within school settings, including knowledge of AAC, assistive technology, and visual supports
  • Experience or strong interest in working with adolescents and young adults with varied communication needs, especially those with developmental or multiple disabilities
  • Strong collaboration, documentation, and organizational skills

In this role, you will:

  • Embed communication goals within functional academics, community-based learning, and vocational experiences
  • Deliver direct and classroom-based speech and language services—leading whole-class, small-group, and individual instruction
  • Integrate communication tools, AAC, and assistive technology throughout students’ daily routines to maximize independence and access
  • Participate in planning and implementing IEPs, conducting assessments, and developing individualized communication strategies
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, vocational staff, and families, providing professional development and consultation
  • Support the generalization of communication skills during classroom and real-world community experiences
