Virtual Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - MD
An opportunity is available for a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with experience in telespeech and teletherapy to provide services in a school setting located in Gaithersburg, MD. This contract position spans the academic year from August 25, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with an average commitment of 35 hours per week, typically spread over three full days.
Key responsibilities include managing caseloads that vary based on student age group, with elementary caseloads reaching up to 40 students, middle school up to 48, and up to 57 at peak times. The caseload and assignment will be tailored based on skills, comfort level, and geographic location within the Eastern Standard Time zone. The role involves providing high-quality speech-language therapy via telepractice, supporting students across diverse developmental stages.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field
- Active Speech Language Pathologist licensure in Maryland
- Minimum of three years of virtual school-based SLP experience, with at least two years within the past five years post-COVID, demonstrating proficiency in teletherapy service delivery
- Strong communication skills and adaptability to varying caseload sizes and student needs
- Ability to comply with state background check requirements and provide all necessary credentials, including images of license and references
Additional components include pre-screen interviews to assess fit, and ongoing supervision with caseload assignments discussed individually. Reference feedback will be considered in the candidate evaluation process.
