This contract opportunity spans two unique sites, offering both variety and meaningful impact. You’ll work with approximately 33 students enrolled in life skills programming—focusing on speech-language support, feeding and swallowing (safe eating), as well as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Half the week will be spent at Westmoreland campus, which primarily serves students with special education needs, while the remainder is at Lane schools, with a concentration on socialization and behavioral development.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Active SLP-CCC certification required.
- Prior experience in schools, with exposure to life skills programming, is highly desired.
- Skill set in feeding and swallowing (safe eating practices) and AAC.
- Comfortable managing diverse caseloads, including students with moderate to high behavioral needs.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating virtually and in person with a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech-language therapy tailored to individual IEPs.
- Implement safe eating protocols and feeding strategies for students.
- Integrate AAC devices and support communication strategies for students with complex needs.
- Collaborate with special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to maximize student outcomes.
- Participate in virtual team meetings and monthly in-person peer support opportunities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress tracking.
