School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Junction City, Oregon
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with students in life skills programming across two innovative educational environments. This full-time position, running from August 31, 2026, to June 17, 2027, offers 40 hours per week with your time split between the Westmoreland campus—serving students with special education needs—and Lane Schools, where socialization and behavioral support are emphasized.
You will have a caseload of approximately 33 students, many needing expertise in feeding and swallowing (safe eating), alongside alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). High schoolers with considerable behavioral needs are present, but you’ll be supported by a team including paraprofessionals and special education staff, plus ongoing SLP team collaboration with virtual and monthly in-person support.
What We Seek:
- Active SLP license with CCCs and experience in school-based settings
- Proven background supporting students with special needs, especially life skills populations
- Specific skills in managing feeding, swallowing, and AAC
- Comfort working with high school students exhibiting higher behavioral needs
- Ability to work independently while engaging with a multidisciplinary support system
- Strong communication and organization skills
Responsibilities Include:
- Assessing, planning, and delivering targeted speech and language therapy services
- Developing and implementing individualized student goals, with a focus on safe eating and communication
- Collaborating closely with teachers, paraprofessionals, and the broader support team
- Maintaining thorough documentation and participating in IEP meetings
- Engaging in ongoing professional support and supervision via virtual and monthly team check-ins
