School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Cottage Grove, Oregon
Step into a dynamic school-based role supporting students in life skills programs through the 2026-27 academic year. This full-time contract opportunity offers a balanced schedule between two vibrant campuses, each serving students with unique needs and strengths. Working 40 hours per week, you’ll provide specialized services to a caseload of approximately 33 students, helping them achieve meaningful communication and safe eating outcomes.
Your week will be split—half at a campus focused on special education, and half supporting students whose primary needs involve socialization and behavioral skills. Throughout, you’ll enjoy in-person collaboration with dedicated paraprofessionals, special education staff, and support assistants, plus regular virtual and monthly guidance from an experienced team of SLPs who are committed to sharing expertise and fostering professional growth.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid SLP certification with active CCC
- Previous school-based SLP experience, particularly in life skills or special education settings
- Expertise in evaluating and supporting feeding and swallowing (safe eating) needs
- Competence with AAC devices and interventions
- Confidence supporting students exhibiting a range of behaviors, with access to on-site behavioral teams
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assessing, planning, and implementing individualized therapy for a diverse caseload
- Supporting safe feeding and swallowing plans, collaborating closely with teachers and caregivers
- Developing and executing AAC strategies tailored to student strengths and challenges
- Coordinating with special education teams, paraprofessionals, and monthly SLP meetings to optimize student success
- Maintaining thorough and compliant documentation
