School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Eugene, Oregon
Step into a dynamic contract opportunity for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to support students in their life skills programming across multiple sites. This full-time position runs for the academic year, from August 31, 2026, through June 17, 2027, with your week split between two unique environments: the Westmoreland campus and Lane schools.
You’ll work with a caseload of about 33 students, many requiring specialized support, including feeding and swallowing (safe eating) interventions and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Half your week will focus on special education students at Westmoreland, while the other half will engage students at Lane with social growth and behavioral needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology licensure and CCC
- Prior experience working in school settings
- Expertise or strong familiarity with AAC and feeding/swallowing protocols
- Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate approach, with adaptability and a commitment to serving diverse student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapeutic interventions addressing communication, feeding/swallowing, and social skills
- Develop, monitor, and evaluate individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with special educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Provide consultative support to classroom staff, ensuring safe practices and access to communication tools
- Maintain timely student records and documentation in compliance with school and federal guidelines
- Participate in monthly virtual meetings and ongoing peer support with a robust team of 12 SLPs
