Role Highlights:
- Hybrid schedule: Primarily remote, with a requirement to be on-site about 2 hours weekly to deliver personalized AT support.
- Work closely with Jefferson High School’s staff and students, focusing on a single student who requires specialized eye gaze technology (Accent device). This involves device programming, calibration, and ongoing maintenance.
- Provide essential guidance and training to the student’s educational team for consistent AT use.
- Conduct school-based evaluations for private school referrals.
- Caseload is manageable and highly focused—maximize your impact with individualized services.
- Collaborate with school professionals to ensure a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Current Texas SLP license (from Texas Dept. of Licensing and Regulation)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA (if supervision hours are logged)
- References available
- Demonstrated experience with assistive technology, especially eye gaze communication devices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse educational team
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct on-site AT services for 2 hours weekly and provide remote indirect support
- Program, calibrate, and maintain an Accent eye gaze device
- Educate support staff on device use and troubleshooting
- Perform comprehensive speech-language evaluations as needed for private school referrals
