This contract opportunity is designed for a Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC) with specialized Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT) experience, particularly working with eye gaze systems. You'll provide both direct and consultative support, blending remote and onsite interactions to maximize flexibility and effectiveness.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Texas SLP license (issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA CCC)
- Experience with AAC/AT, specifically programming, calibrating, and maintaining eye gaze devices such as Accent
- Previous work in school settings and ability to conduct private school referral evaluations
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Role Highlights:
- Support a high school student’s communication needs using AT, including onsite visits (2 hours/week) for direct service and device maintenance at the school
- Serve as a resource to the student’s educational team, providing training and troubleshooting support for device use
- Complete evaluations for private school referrals as assigned
- Maintain thorough documentation of interventions and collaboration
- Collaborate closely with staff, families, and interdisciplinary team members to facilitate student achievement
This flexible, part-time contract (20 hours/week) allows you to leverage your expertise and passion for assistive technology within a supportive school environment.
