This role provides hands-on professional growth and exposure to progressive workplace practices, particularly in Assistive Technology (AT) support for high school-aged students. Key Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLP License (Texas Dept. of Licensing and Regulation)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence required if hours already logged
- Prior SLP experience in school settings preferred
- Specific experience with Assistive Technology for communication (eye gaze with Accent device)
- Ability to program, calibrate, and maintain AT devices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- References as required by district credentialing
Role Requirements:
- Provide direct and indirect speech-language and AT services for one student at a high school campus
- On-site sessions (no VOCO/teletherapy)
- Address communication needs using eye-gaze technology (Accent device)
- Support the educational team with AT device training, programming, calibration, and maintenance
- Commit up to 2 hours per week through May 2027
