School Speech Language Pathologist - New Castle, DE
Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2026-2027 school year. You'll be working onsite, contributing your expertise to help children build vital communication skills within a dynamic educational environment. This contract opportunity runs from August 19, 2026, through June 15, 2027, offering consistency and a meaningful experience.
In this position, you'll be primarily based at an elementary site, working Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 4:00pm, with a 30-minute paid lunch. The caseload will focus on school-age students, and all schedule details are based on the 2025-2026 academic calendar, with some possibility for slight adjustments.
Desired Background and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid Delaware SLP license (SLP-CF candidates considered; not open to VOCO or SLPA)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience providing speech therapy in a school setting
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to build rapport and collaborate with faculty, families, and students
- Commitment to fostering communication, language, and social skills in a diverse student population
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop IEPs, and deliver targeted therapy sessions
- Track student progress and maintain thorough records
- Collaborate closely with educators and support staff
- Consult and communicate effectively with parents and guardians
- Participate in meetings and professional development as needed
- Support early intervention and itinerant SLP needs as required
