Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist, providing maternity leave coverage for the 2026–2027 school year. You’ll be supporting students in grades K–8 across two neighboring schools, both conveniently located with easy access between Liberty Elementary and Liberty Intermediate/Middle School in the Michigan City, IN area.
From August 10, 2026, through the first week of November 2026, you’ll engage with a manageable caseload of approximately 90 students, helping them succeed in their communication goals during this pivotal period. Enjoy the flexibility to design your own 7-hour workday (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch), allocating your time between the two campuses based on student needs and your preferred workflow. Reference hours: Elementary school runs from 7:30 AM–2:15 PM, Intermediate/Middle from 8:45 AM–3:45 PM.
Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist with current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Strong background in school-based or pediatric SLP settings preferred
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a diverse K–8 caseload
- Commitment to fostering student communication skills and supporting IEP development and implementation
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with staff and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, intervention, and therapy for students with speech and language needs
- Maintain and document individualized education program (IEP) progress
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student growth
- Flexibly split time and adjust daily schedule between the two adjacent campuses
- Contribute to a positive, supportive school environment
