Make an immediate impact supporting K–8 learners as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) during a maternity leave coverage at two neighboring schools in the Gary, IN area. You’ll provide essential speech and language services to approximately 90 students across Liberty Elementary and Liberty Intermediate/Middle School, with the flexibility to create your own schedule between the two campuses. This rewarding contract position runs from August 10, 2026, through the first week of November 2026.
What You Bring:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology license and Indiana state credentials (CCC required)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting, especially providing services to K–8 populations
- Skill in evaluation, intervention, and progress monitoring for a diverse caseload
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, and other professionals
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to supporting student success in a busy school environment
Your Role Involves:
- Delivering direct and consultative speech-language therapy for students, grades K–8
- Developing and implementing effective IEPs in collaboration with school teams
- Conducting assessments and documenting student progress
- Managing a caseload that spans both Liberty Elementary and Intermediate/Middle campuses (located within the same complex)
- Structuring your 7-hour workday to best serve student needs; enjoy autonomy to plan the daily schedule
- Communicating with families and faculty to promote student growth
