School Speech Language Pathologist - Garland, Texas
Step into a dynamic school-based opportunity supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) in a collaborative educational setting. Utilizing your speech-language pathology expertise and fluency in American Sign Language (ASL), you’ll enhance communication skills and foster meaningful progress in a dedicated DHH program. This role is therapy-focused, working closely with two other skilled therapists in providing direct services to a diverse group of inspiring students.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Texas SLP license required
- Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) or possess DHHT certification
- Experience in educational settings, preferably supporting students with hearing loss
- Ability to work full-time (37.5 hours/week) throughout the academic year
- Must complete fingerprinting through the TEA if not already done for a Texas public school within the past 12 months
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective therapy to DHH students in a Regional Day School Program for the Deaf
- Collaborate daily with a team of therapists and educational professionals
- Contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs) and participate in student meetings
- Document and track student progress, adapting approaches to support unique learning needs
- Help maintain a positive, accessible, and inclusive learning environment
