This full-time contract opportunity focuses on providing direct therapy services as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). You’ll collaborate with an expert team dedicated to helping approximately 130 students thrive across the RDSPD (Regional Day School Program for the Deaf). This therapy-focused position ensures you’ll work hands-on with students, using your skills to support their communication growth and educational success.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLP license required
- Proficiency in American Sign Language or DHHT certification mandatory
- Experience working in schools, especially with DHH (Deaf or Hard of Hearing) populations, strongly preferred
- Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
- Capable of adapting therapy approaches for a diverse range of student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech therapy services to students in the DHH program, focusing on enhancing communication and language skills
- Work closely with two other SLPs as part of a dedicated therapy team
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with educational staff and families
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
This position begins August 11, 2026, and runs through May 28, 2027, with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week in a vibrant educational setting. Candidates must complete fingerprinting via the Texas Education Agency, unless already recently cleared for another Texas public school district.
