This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) focuses on direct therapy services for DHH students within a regional day school program. Working alongside a collaborative team of speech-language pathologists, you will primarily deliver therapy to a diverse caseload spanning various age groups while leveraging your proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
What You’ll Bring:
- Active Texas SLP license required
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or possession of a DHHT certification
- Previous school-based SLP experience is highly valued, especially working with DHH populations
- Confidence providing therapy individually and in small group settings
- Skill in collaborating with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Compassion and dedication to serving the unique communication needs of DHH students
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver speech and language therapy, emphasizing effective use of ASL
- Collaborate closely with other SLPs and staff in a regional day school for the deaf
- Design, implement, and monitor progress on individualized therapy plans
- Maintain clear and thorough documentation for each student
- Participate in eligibility, evaluation, and IEP meetings as needed
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Candidates must complete the fingerprinting process through the Texas Education Agency, unless they have been recently fingerprinted for another public school district. Clearance must be confirmed before onboarding.
