Step into an impactful role supporting students in a Regional Day School Program for the Deaf, with a contract opportunity beginning August 11, 2026, and concluding May 28, 2027. As a Speech-Language Pathologist fluent in ASL, you will collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary team to make a difference in the lives of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students. Enjoy meaningful, hands-on therapy work in a full-time capacity of 37.5 hours per week, working directly on-site within a supportive school environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Active Texas Speech-Language Pathology license
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or DHHT certification
- Previous experience in a school-based SLP setting
- Passion for serving DHH students and integrating into multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to complete fingerprinting through TEA if not previously done with another public school district
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to DHH students as part of a dedicated therapy team
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and educators on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and student progress
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of treatment plans, sessions, and student outcomes
- Adapt therapy methods to meet diverse student needs within the program
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training opportunities
