Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Garland, TX
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through a specialized school-based program near Garland, TX. In this full-time role, you’ll work alongside a collaborative team of experienced Speech-Language Pathologists serving a dynamic group of approximately 130 students within a Regional Day School Program for the Deaf. Your fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) will be especially valued, as you’ll play a hands-on role in providing direct therapy to students across various age groups.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Texas license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Demonstrated fluency in ASL or DHHT certification is required
- Prior experience working with DHH populations preferred
- Familiarity with school-based evaluation and therapy practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapy services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in alignment with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Employ your ASL proficiency to maximize communication and outcomes for students
- Collaborate with a team of SLPs, special educators, and support staff in a supportive environment
- Maintain thorough documentation, progress notes, and participate in IEP team meetings
- Communicate compassionately with families and staff to advocate for student needs
- Complete required credentialing steps, including TEA fingerprinting, as needed
This position offers a structured, full-time schedule of 37.5 hours weekly from August 2026 through late May 2027. The assignment is exclusively on-site, creating daily opportunities to make a tangible difference for students.
