Speech Therapist in Elizabeth, NJ
Make a meaningful difference supporting students’ communication and language development in a contract position at the Pre-K level. Applicants should bring a background in school-based speech-language pathology, focusing on early childhood/pre-K populations. Experience with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and parental communication will be integral to the role.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
- Active state licensure as an SLP (Speech-Language Pathologist)
- School-based SLP experience, especially with Pre-K preferred
- Familiarity with evaluation, treatment, and documentation in a school environment
- Ability to support MAT LOA (maternity leave of absence) coverage
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting assessments for speech and language disorders at the Pre-K level
- Developing and implementing individualized intervention plans
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to support student progress
- Delivering both individual and small group therapy sessions
- Documenting evaluations, progress notes, and outcomes per school guidelines
- Supporting students’ transition and milestones during the coverage period
