School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Paterson, New Jersey
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting local students as a Speech-Language Pathologist this school year. Two immediate roles are open: one covering a maternity leave and the other providing services at the Pre-K level. Each assignment runs through June 25th, with start dates as soon as possible—no extended school year work required at this time.
You'll join a team environment where collaboration is valued, working alongside other district Speech Therapists at the Pre-K level to ensure comprehensive support for students’ communication needs. The caseload size is yet to be finalized, but you’ll have the benefit of a close-knit group of professionals sharing resources and strategies.
Key qualifications and qualities sought include:
- Active SLP license for New Jersey (or eligibility for licensure)
- Previous experience or training in school-based or pediatric settings highly preferred
- Ability to provide assessment, therapy, and consultation for students with a variety of communication disorders
- Comfortable adapting to caseload changes and collaborating with both staff and families
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Primary responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, write reports, and help develop IEP goals in accordance with district requirements
- Deliver direct therapy with an individualized, student-centered approach
- Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers, other SLPs, and special education teams at the Pre-K level
- Provide consultation, support, and resources for families and caregivers
- Track progress and maintain accurate records throughout the assignment
