Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist - San Marcos, CA

Step into a rewarding opportunity as an onsite Speech-Language Pathologist working with middle and high school students in a vibrant educational setting. This contract role is based near San Marcos, CA, offering the chance to support approximately 50 students across grades 6-12. You’ll play a vital role in students’ academic journeys by conducting assessments, creating and implementing IEPs, and delivering individualized direct services in a collaborative school environment.
Ideal candidates bring experience or a strong interest in working within a school setting, along with a passion for enhancing the communication skills and overall development of adolescent learners.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Valid California SLP license or eligibility
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status considered
- Previous experience in schools, pediatrics, or with adolescent populations preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP and assessment processes
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Comfort working onsite with students in grades 6-12
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language services to students on caseload
- Conduct timely and thorough assessments to identify students’ needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with staff and families
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports
- Participate in IEP meetings and consult with educators, parents, and support staff
- Engage in ongoing professional development as required
