Pediatric School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Chula Vista, California

Ideal candidates bring expertise with school-based populations and have achieved their Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). Experience or proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a background working with deaf or hard-of-hearing students are highly valued for this setting. You'll collaborate with educators, families, and other support staff, making a meaningful difference in students’ daily lives.
Key Qualifications:
- Active CCC-SLP required
- Experience in school, pediatric, or healthcare SLP roles
- Strong assessment, diagnosis, and therapy planning skills
- ASL proficiency or experience with deaf/hard-of-hearing populations strongly preferred
- Comfort delivering individualized and group interventions
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to supporting students’ educational and social-emotional development
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough speech, language, and communication assessments
- Develop and implement IEPs for students with a range of speech and language needs
- Deliver direct therapy services to individuals or small groups
- Consult with teachers and family members to promote generalization of skills
- Document progress and maintain accurate records
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to collaborative problem-solving
- Adapt therapy techniques for students who use alternative or augmentative communication, including ASL
