Speech Language Pathologist in Bloomfield, NJ

Your primary responsibilities include evaluation, direct therapy, and participation in IEP meetings. Experience and comfort working with augmentative communication devices is especially valued, as it enhances service delivery for nonverbal learners. This position will cover a leave of absence (estimated through November, with the possibility of extension), offering a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in a supportive educational environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current, valid certifications required for consideration
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- State licensure for Speech-Language Pathology (or eligibility)
- Experience delivering services in a school setting
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
- Confident providing therapy and evaluations for varied needs, including Early Intervention
- Proficiency with or willingness to learn augmentative communication devices
- Collaborative spirit with strong communication skills
Key Duties:
- Evaluate and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and maintain thorough documentation and goal tracking in alignment with IEPs
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Consult with teachers and staff to provide support for carryover and integration of communication strategies
- Embrace opportunities to develop communication support for students requiring assistive technology
