A school-based Speech Language Pathologist opportunity is available in the Plainfield, IL area with a focus on elementary students. This contract position offers a flexible schedule aligned with school hours, allowing candidates to work directly with students in both general education and special education classrooms, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year) candidates are welcome as supervision is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for new graduates to gain valuable school-based experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech and language therapy services to a caseload of approximately 35-40 elementary students
  • Collaborate with educators and staff to support students in general and special education settings
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
  • Maintain clear documentation and progress reporting in accordance with compliance standards
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development and support sessions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as an SLP with CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) or eligibility for CFY
  • Comfort working with diverse learners, including students with ASD
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently within a school setting
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to participate in orientation and onsite support programs

Location and Schedule:

  • Position based in the Plainfield, IL area, with some caseloads served in nearby schools
  • Full-time (37.5 hours per week), school year contract with an option to renew
  • Flexible scheduling within school hours only; primarily elementary student caseloads
  • Immediate start, with hire expected within 1-2 weeks of job offer
