Autism Specialist | Belle Plaine, Minnesota
An exciting opportunity awaits professionals passionate about supporting students with special needs, specifically in autism education and communication. This contract role is perfect for those with backgrounds as an Autism Specialist, Special Education Teacher, or School-based SLP, looking to make a meaningful impact in the K-8 environment.
In this position, you'll provide speech-language services across two nearby school sites, working closely with students on the autism spectrum and their peers who benefit from specialized instruction. You’ll manage a K-8th grade caseload and enjoy a flexible structure of 30-32 hours per week, spread over four days (Monday to Thursday) or five days (Monday through Friday)—tailored to your schedule preference. The contract runs from ASAP through June 6, 2025, with no summer hours required, and there’s a strong possibility to continue for the 2025-2026 school year.
Qualifications:
- SLP, SLP-CF, SLPA, or relevant certification in Special Education or Autism specialization
- Experience in autism interventions, individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and positive outcomes for students with diverse needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective speech-language or autism intervention services to K-8 students
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with educators and families
- Maintain documentation and progress reports in line with school standards
- Travel between two sites as needed to support assigned students
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive school culture
