Working closely with the Director of Special Education, you’ll engage with a collaborative team, providing essential services that help students reach their full communication potential. This is a full-time, in-person position, Monday through Friday, for the full academic year.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- An active CA SLP License (CFY and CCC applicants considered)
- Experience or coursework in pediatric speech therapy and teletherapy
- Strong knowledge of school-based and healthcare SLP practice
- Commitment to students with special education needs and their families
- Skills in assessment, evaluation, and consultation
- A lighthearted, compassionate approach with the ability to foster positive relationships
- Familiarity with special education processes and procedures
- Excellent communication, active listening, and collaborative problem-solving abilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing consultative services and diagnostic support to school staff within the district
- Conducting evaluations and assessments for students referred for special education
- Participating as a valued member of multi-disciplinary teams for IEP processes
- Maintaining ongoing communication with families, staff, and community health partners
- Helping students with speech and language impairments achieve their academic and social potential
- Assisting with the development of language programs for both classroom and community settings
