Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Salinas, CA
Embark on a rewarding journey as a Speech Language Pathologist supporting students for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position involves working closely with K-12 students across elementary, middle, and high school levels. Reporting to the Director of Special Education, you will be instrumental in helping students cultivate their communication abilities, contributing directly to their academic and personal growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Active CA SLP License required
- Experience and commitment to serving students with special education needs
- Comfortable with assessment, evaluation, and collaborative consultation
- Skilled at fostering positive, professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of special education procedures, eligibility criteria, and disability categories
- Ability to organize, plan, and manage all phases of special education processes
- Embraces a supportive, lighthearted, and engaging approach
Core Responsibilities:
- Consult with school personnel to identify and support students with speech and language needs
- Conduct comprehensive screening, evaluation, and ongoing assessment for students referred for special education
- Contribute as a multi-disciplinary team member for student observations, data sharing, and IEP planning
- Communicate effectively with families, staff, and external partners to support student progress
- Provide direct therapy to students, helping them strengthen their communication skills in the classroom and community
- Advise and assist educational staff in developing and implementing effective language programs
