School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | San Marcos, California
Make a difference in the lives of students by providing speech-language pathology support full time in a dynamic middle school setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work 37.5 hours per week from now through the end of the school year. You’ll collaborate closely with educators and SLPs to foster communication skills and contribute to a supportive learning environment. Experience in a school setting is ideal, particularly with a middle school caseload, and bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is strongly preferred to best serve the diverse student population.
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license or certification.
- Previous experience working with students in educational settings, ideally at the middle school level.
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred to provide optimal support for students and families.
- Commitment to the full school year, beginning as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
- Work one-on-one and in small groups with students to implement speech-language therapy plans designed by supervising SLPs.
- Track student progress, maintain documentation, and provide regular updates to supervising therapists and educators.
- Support IEP goals and adapt sessions as needed to boost students’ communication skills.
- Actively participate in team meetings and collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists.
- Engage students with diverse needs and foster a positive, inclusive environment.
